THUPTEN LING DHARMA CENTER

Thupten Ling Dharma Center is a Tibetan Buddhist Dharma Center located in Hamden, Connecticut, belonging to the Nyingma lineage of the unfathomably gracious Guru Rinpoche. The name “Thupten Ling Cho Tshog”, which means “The Dharma Gathering of the Land of the Sage’s Teaching”, is the name given by the Lord of Compassion, H.H. the XIV Dalai Lama, to Lama Tsondru Sangpo, our Dharma center’s Lama.

OUR AIM

Today the Buddha’s teaching is flourishing all over the world, yet still there are many places where true Dharma cannot be accessed by those who wish to practice it. The aim of Thupten Ling Dharma Center is to share the methods set out by Buddha Shakyamuni and Guru Rinpoche to be accessible to anyone who wishes, and especially for those who search for Dharma like a person dying of thirst searches for water.

Having the thought to establish this center according to Tibetan customs and Tibetan astrology, it was from great masters such as H.H. Dalai Lama, Kyabje Kunpangpa Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche, and Kyabje Dodrupchen Rinpoche that Lama Tsondru-la requested blessings for his Dharma center. So, it is through those great masters’ blessings that the Dharma activities of Thupten Ling may benefit all mother beings; that the excellent Dharma flourish and be extensive; and that this country, the United States, and the world not even hear the names of weapons, war, famine, and disease.
